actually it was probably some of the nicest hiking we have ever done - stayed in some lovely hotels and mountain refuges, ate amazing food each day, good wine each night!

Tomorrow I climb the Col de L'Arpettaz a climb full of hairpins and a little known gem down towards Albertville.

People coming up to me all day, patting me and saying how cute I am.......even being stopped in street by Japanese tourists for photo opportunities.....no greyhounds up here. Think it was because all humans in town long and skinny like me....... Met ...
Arrived in chamonaix yesterday, went for coffee and lunch....was amazed by inhabitants who almost uniformly had less fat on them than a racing snake and made tony look obese. All in boots and mountain kit. Commented that perhaps the residents of hull might benefit from the air uphere....then went for a walk around town. And walked into Mont Blanc marathon....mystery of racing snake gathering explained..... Cold and thundery......not seen Mont Blanc yer. Know its here ...
... in Europe. What a mess! (Actually, this was one of the cleanest belays we had all day!)
