          Rio was quality. Stayed in Copacabana and met loads of decent people to do the carnaval partying with. Amongst other things we went on a trek to a deserted beach island, had a boozy boat trip around the bays of Rio and did the usual Christ statue and other touristy stuff. Carnaval was crazy and there are street parties going on all the time. These guys don´t need any excuse to start partying. If you just sneeze they´ll start dancing around you and hitting drums.           ... knackered in a overly expensive dump of a hotel in Copacabana for the night. First thing the next day we checked ourselves into a far cheaper, and nicer hostel, although as we are now in a pricier part of the world it is dorm beds again.           ... head to the largest one - Rocina (sp?) this is the largest one in Rio. Approx 1 1/2 million people (out of about 6 1/2 mill) live in Rio's favelas, of which there are 30. We first meet some local artisans and take pictures of the great view of Rio - at least they have the best views of Rio if not the best conditions.
