Today we leave Florence and fly to Paris, where we started our odyssey two months ago, so at 6 o'clock we were awake to finish packing. It was however only a drill, but how lucky were we as our room is on the 5th floor and had we been here would have had to walk down 5 floors. Our room is small but it has a reasonable sized bathroom, much better than where we stayed last night. ... found’ on the path. She nearly forced me to take it and then when she was a few steps past us, returned asking if we had a bit of money for a food. I promptly returned the ring to her. It was a weird scenario as I vividly recalled looking at the ground as I often do while walking, and not seeing anything when she leaned forward and pretended to pick up the ring. Interesting scam, wonder how often it works.

It is very strange observing a thoroughly religious service in a different language, but mostly it was the same. I felt that it was good practice for me before I start at a Catholic school!

Paris is certainly a beautiful city of museums and history. And tourists. Unbelievable number of people on the streets. Reminded us of an ant colony, only bigger.
