TripAdvisor Reviews L'Oiseau Bleu Paris
Travel Blogs from Paris
We had a three hour bus drive into Paris from the port of Le Havre. We had about four hours in Paris to walk around and see the sights. It was a fine warm day not to hot for walking around. Once we got our bearings we went to the Eiffel Tower first which is the tallest building in Paris and was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 world's fair. Over two hundred ...
... of the major commercial areas of Paris in the 1800s, called "the belly of Paris" because so much food was sold there. Emile Zola set one of his novels: Le ventre de Paris, there. There is still a huge underground shopping mall there, one of the most visited in Paris, and the above ground area is being turned into a large public space with a gigantic glass canopy over part of it. We strolled through the neighborhood and reached the museum about 30 minutes after it had opened. There was a small queue but it moved quite quickly. We were ...
... After a bit of rest we headed for an outdoor restaurant and landed at La Place. It is lovely, with the outdoor tables under two large trees and in a nice area of Montparnasse. French wine and good food.
Again we were shocked when we realized it was 10:30 PM at night and still daylight, well, beginning twilight. Walked back to our comfy hotel to read our books from Shakespeare & Co. Tomorrow the Louvre!!
