Caught train from Gare de Lyon for Annecy. Train ride was very pretty and arrived in Annecy around 1pm. Walked from train station to our beautiful hotel Imperial Hotel right on the lake. Dropped our bags off and then went for walk into Annecy.

It's right in the centre of Geneva which in our couple of days here seems to be a bit of a stiff place and not particularly friendly. Saturday I decided to venture to an area of Geneva that I've never visited before. I took the tram to Carouge and walked around a bit making my way ...

Each of the elephants looks real, and you get the feeling that real elephants are strolling out of arches into the middle of the street! Apparently the fountain is known by the locals colloquially as Les Quatre Sans Culs 'the four without *****' (translation into English by some stranger)! We wanted to hire bikes and ride to a lake a little way out of town, ...

We left Nice around 2pm and ventured to a small town called Annecy by car. The drive took us 6 hours in total and was pretty much motorways the entire way there which was good! A couple of hours into the ride we ran into some really bad weather, we could see the sky get darker in the distance. Before we knew it, we were driving in some really heavy rain and had to slow down but then all of a sudden, marble size hail started falling heavily causing some drivers to ...
