... was his work smock, still splattered with paint and hanging on a hook alongside his hats, coat and jacket. I could easily visualise him taking it off and hanging it up after a long day spent painting and creating his masterpieces.

... out her friend Antonia's restaurant for authentic Provenšal cuisine. And because we were in the South West of France and it is the home of cassoulet, Philip had to order it ... and couldn't believe his eyes when a whole casserole dish - complete with ladle - came to the table. His reaction was priceless ;)

A gentle stroll back with very full tummies, through the softly lit streets after burning another candle for mum at the Eglise de Saint-Espirit. Ah, it's a tough life.

Had to get up early (we don't do early!) to be there for the English tour at 10:00.
Only a short distance away so an easy 20 min drive only interrupted by a blocked road for a market day.

... One of the stall holders had been walking behind me, holding up a small box and mimicking my actions. From then on, he yelled 'Picture lady!' and waved to me when I walked past him - Very funny! Bonnieux, and in fact all of the Luberon, was featured in Peter Mayle's book 'one Year in Provence'. I will read it again when I get home now that I will be able to visualise the villages he wrote about. I can see why he fell so in love ...
