... I heard the owner of the site calling and calling. It turned out that his donkey had disappeared and she was eventually found grazing between two caravans. The next day he was out calling again and this time the donkey was down near the swimming pool. Yesterday I saw that the donkey had escaped yet again and was grazing near my van. I went to say hello to her and noticed that the german couple opposite didn't seem too happy. ...

... fresh which will be lovely as its meant to be quite warm later today. Apparently it's unseasonably warm here in Brittany this year, and in particular, this week so we're told to expect temperatures of 30-31 degrees. The ride starts out well, we have some rolling uphill struggle and downhills, not too steep and then we're on the canal path into Reddon - very flat for the next 20 kms. ... and a sit-down in a creperie for ‘afters and coffee’ (this is getting to be a habit having our dinner back to front). Followed by yet more cobbles uphill and more decorative old buildings and back to the van about 5 hours later, cream-crackered. We had only chosen Josselin as a stop as it was about half-way to Rennes, our next main stop.

Took the car out to Piriac sur Mer today to explore the coastal area south east of Vannes. It didn't disappoint, nice old port and quaint coastal town. We stopped off for a lakeside walk in the village of Asserac on the way there, and coffee and a bit of shopping in Roche St Bernard on the way ...
