    ... cheese of course).

On Thursday we had breakfast then packed and tidied the apartment before checking out. We drove back down the coast and then across the island towards to the airport. We stopped off to have a walk around the rainforest for about half an hour and then stopped again at a waterfall. The waterfall was pretty with a nice river and a good swimming pool. We changed into our bathing suits and went swimming on the beach. The kids found a couple of coconut trees to climb and wasted no time creating a beach bar from the coconuts.
The water is very clear. In fact so clear that we could see our 36 inch black barracuda ...

... to the aquarium. We spent the afternoon learning about the local sea creatures and their habitats. The next day we rented a car with Del Max and went adventuring inland. We drove to the Chutes Du Carbet in the Basse Terre territory. The Chutes Du Carbet are two 350 foot waterfalls and is famous for luring Christopher Columbus from the Carribbean sea to the island. Mr. Columbus was in search of fresh water when he saw the waterfall from a distance. On our way out the ...
