... and got some fresh hot waffles, shaped like the Cathedral with melted chocolate on, and some delicious Stollen. It was a one hour drive to Vaals / Holland. A cute little town. We had dinner at Mo'ment, an interesting little resturant. Duck was the speciality. Matt had huge ribs and H a vegetarian lasagna. Hotel Kasteel Bloemendal Vaals was where we stayed and it was lovely. 18C restored manor house, and we were in the renovated wing.

... twice, but it was impressive none the less. Much was underground by gas light. Thee caves were actually quarry caves where the limestone was removed by farmers and used in local buildings and also the Church domes. ... English and I am Australian, but she couldn't speak English so she walked on with a smile. Our walk in the afternoon was a guided walk with park ranger. The group was large with a few very well behaved German children, it was a long walk and no complaints from them. The ranger only gave the talks in German but a nice man with reasonable English tried to give us the gist of them once we started walking again. ... open on Sunday. English name for the museum is Reinish Openair Museum. It is a series of small villages built by moving original old buildings to the site. When the buildings are reconstructed onsite any modifications are removed which means a house constructed in 17th century would have the modifications from 18th century removed!
