... splendide village, but at time of writing 10.30 pm. The heavens have just openned, the most amazing 5 minute storm has just blown through.
Subject to weather we will be setting off, bound for Ile d'yeu, a small island in the Vendee.
Tomorrow we are hoping to post a blog with pictures while we are underway.
The story devlops at a pace. A canal barge has been changed to a First Class 8 once more. Left Bernard at 10ish and trundled down Arzal ready to go through a monster sea lock for our journey to Pornichet. Weather not bad but rather windier than expected -Ian doesn't do ...
... am not leaving until Friday when hopefully things will have settled down.
Did my washing today, down to one pair of pants.
Boats looking good with most of the leaks fixed, still a couple over Ians bunk but dont tell him.
Tried to get a French phone today, no success so ...
... and walk to the village Sarzeau but it was a little too windy for the dinghy ride to the slip so we stayed onboard and Gen continued with his sewing - this time a mozzie / fly net protector for the hatch.
Mid morning the following day we moved on and anchored off the Ile d'Arz. Went a shore and were pleasantly surprised by the village.
Rain and lots of it, managed to finish the rigging all halyards now led aft, but I never seem to finish all the work Ive scheduled for the day.
On another note, this site tells me how many visitors and where they are located, I can understand some interest from the USA but who is looking in from Alaska?
