      ... have a very unique Alsace style, with very steep rooftops. Interesting thing, our guide consider herself French, but her grandparents and great grandparents were Germans. However, during the WWII, her parents had to join the mass evacuation of the city as Hitler was coming in.       We got up, had breakfast and headed out of Beaune on a couple of driving tours that the Rick Steves book contained. We drove through some small villages and some nice vineyards.       Friday morning Lionel and I left Beaumont to see Marie-Ange perform in the opera in Strasbourg. It was a about a 4 hour drive that turned into 6 hours with traffic - Yay! lol. We traveled through Switzerland and Germany to reach Strasbourg seeing lots of beautiful countryside along the way, including the towns of Lausanne, Emmental, Bern, and Basel. We passed the time listening to Bourvil (a French comedian/singer/actor) and Sinatra.

      Day 4 - Monday, 8th September, 2014

      After a few cups of coffee we rode through beautiful Luxembourg countryside, in a south eastly direction, until we reached the town of Remich which is on the Moselle River. A short ride across the bridge located there saw us in our 4th country in 3 days, Germany.
