Took the slow road home. It was slower than even we had anticipated. Inspite of Paul upgrading TT several months ago, we never quite got to the main road, using every farm road since roman times. Pot holes deep enough to loose the car, bridges with the expansion joints missing, road edge crumbling, dirt, gravel, ...

Cruising the Mediterranean

Well, I lied. We didn't cruise around the Egadi Islands but we did cruise the Mediterranean. We set off from a pretty little fishing port called, Castellammare del Golfo (big name for a little town). We hugged the coast (mainland), cruising through the Zingaro Marine Nature Reserve, past the village of Scopello (on my itinerary for next visit to Sicily) and the faraglioni rocks to the very touristy town of San Vito Lo Capo.

... a lay in till 7am and I will pack and must check out at 10, then I will spend more time relaxing by the sea, having a read and researching how to spend my remaining weeks. I have a hostel booked in Palermo for the next two nights and then will see where the will takes me. I have woken feeling much more positive, and after chatting to friends and family yesterday on the web or phone, I definitely feel less alone. :-)

No more hitchhiking thou....
