... Shall we go home now said Gina? Ok. I slept on the plane and woke to see Venice below, making out the Grand Canal and Saint Mark's Square. At this moment we are flying over the Alps, beautiful clear views of lakes, valleys and snow topped mountains. On our way ...

Today, the Rhapsody of the Seas pulled into Bodrum, Turkey, and I'm afraid that the Turners did not get off the ship. We always enjoy the days when the ship is in port, because the decks are empty! We know that Bodrum is a beautiful beach town, but we have been to so many fabulous beaches, we decided to skip it. I know that we will be back to Turkey, so we will have another opportunity to visit both Bodrum and Kusadasi.

A room with a fine view, high above the whitewashed buildings of Bodrum, a castle from a turned back time of Crusaders and holy wars and a poorly Gina. From last night's long black dress to this morning's illness. I have administered a cure. I sat and read Orhan Pamuk and ate breakfast alone. It was cold! This was not supposed to be. Bodrum is a town that looks best from a distance. Up close I mingled with buses and the tourists and ...

We have time for a stroll this morning and find a long esplanade lined with touristy clothes shops and cafes. This is definitely touristville and from all accounts this is typical along this stretch of Turkish coastline. JaM stop for a cappuccino and take in the vista of jelly belly white pommies blobbing in the calm azure ocean and some lounging on white cushioned banana chairs perfectly lined up in rows of hundreds. At this moment I wish I was one ...

Today was spent in Bodrum, a beautiful little seaside village which would be a holiday destination for the Turks. The money invested in yachts in this area is mind blowing. We headed along the promenade towards Castle of St Peter, the most prominent feature of Bodrum. We thought the walk would have been too far for us, however when you stroll along and check out the shops on the way the distance doesn't seem too bad. Jeanette and I bought ourselves a red leather bag each ...
