... many bumpy roads we were do pleased to get there. After going through customs we were pleased to be sitting on the ferry at 9am. We left at 9.30 and had a 50 minute journey to Kos. The journey was comfortable as we arrived a number of huge Gulets left packed with people off to sail around the island. By the time we got off the ferry it was 10.30am and we had until 5.30pm to take in some of the sights. We decided to have a drink then look at the map and decide what ...

After breakfast we headed for the pool- a stunning infinity pool on 2 levels overlooking Bodrum and the hills behind. The hotel has 3 other pools as well, but not with these views. ...

... views across the bay from Yalikavak were wonderful as normal but it was interesting to come across some villas and houses which had been started to be built but due to the economy has been left unfinished. We also walked past a Mosque one of many we have seen since being in Yalikavak. On the way back I couldn't resist so I got into my bikini and had a dip and a swim to cool off, I have to say it was very welcoming and very warm. I had to make sure I found a part of a beach ...

    ... them.

As we ate lunch down by the harbor, a large parade suddenly passed by, complete with two marching bands, groups of athletes carrying their clubs' banners and an assortment of 1960s and 1970s VW Beetles. It was very puzzling at first (it seemed like an elaborate spectacle for 2 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon), but then we saw signs advertising the Turkish national volleyball championships taking place Thursday through Sunday in Bodrum. We actually ...
