... side roads. I love it...and I love the fresh flowers - that are 2 Euro and so beautiful!!! We've been to some of the cafe's and I have made a mark at the local market when I took a nose dive on the side walk and then cried cause it hurt so freaking much!!! (that was the fall earlier referred to - not a different one - geez, I am not THAT klutzy!!).

Well, all good things must come to an end <---- and that is my cliche to end this blog.

Finally catching up...
Traveling from Venice to Bassana, we pass Padua (Padova) a town famous for the Bascilica of San Antonio. This was not just another church ...the peaceful, prayerful, spirit filled atmosphere was tangible. Aside from the beauty there was a reverence... No noise, no cameras, no crowds milling everywhere. ... Calalzo for Cortina by bus (about an hour). After a nice amble through the town from the bus stop the uphill commenced. Lunch was at a quaint woodcutters hut in bright sunshine. Onwards and upwards for 4 hours before reaching our first Rifugio (Croda da Lago). This was a beautiful setting by a lake. Here we experienced the melody of the cow bells as they wandered around the hillside. The mountain Rifugios were a luxury compared to our mountain huts in Tassie. ...
