      ... living in some dude's house with all of his stuff still here. It's right in the centre of Geneva which in our couple of days here seems to be a bit of a stiff place and not particularly friendly. It is a stunning setting on both sides of the lake with a very strong French architectural influence and lovely parks with lots of sculptures and art everywhere, similar to Lugano.

      Unfortunately the bathroom scales worked in our new place ...

      ... find permanent jobs so they can stay. It really is such a small world, one of the gals was from CA; she grew up in LA area, graduated from UCLA (we worked through it), and is now living in SF and attending USF for grad school. We ended up with about 10 people at our table by the time the game was over and decided we should play a game. We must’ve spent about 3 hours playing the game “Who Am I?” – what a riot!

      ... quite a few little alleys that were built so the aristocrats could get from their villas to the courtyards and streets. The tall townhouses have the same sort of coloured facades that the ones in Florence had, but they all had the French style loft windows that we love (that remind us of the first loft apartment we stayed at in the Marais in Paris).       ... way was on a dedicated cycle lane which made it less stressful. On arriving back at the apt at 9.45am I saw the others had headed off on a walk to a nearby waterfall - la cascade d'Angon. I followed the trail and caught them up so we all met at the waterfall. It was stunning and impressive. There were a lot of lizards along the way scurrying away in the undergrowth. We returned home to get all packed up for a few hours at the beach. ...

      ... north of Italy (just north of Turin) we tried to stop for some lunch. We exited off the motorway and headed to a little village but Murphy's law - the bakery had just closed at 1pm. So we got back on the motorway and ended up nibbling on snacks in the car. Early afternoon we arrived at the Frejus tunnel to pass under the Col de Frejus which is in the Vanoise National Park. We were slightly surprised to be stung with a 40e toll to pass through it. ...
