... turquoise I've ever seen...I know - my description sounds quite cliché, but the beach was really all that...now, I haven't been to Bora-Bora (not yet...) or the Maldives (who knows if ever...) or the Seychelles (more likely that never...), but so far it is really the finest beach I've ever been to...

The lifeguard helps us install two beach chairs and brings us a beach umbrella, and we lie down watching the usual procession of vendors and musicians walking by and peddling their wares and services. Here is the fruit vendor, a woman carrying a huge basket of fruit on her head, filled with small (but very sweet) bananas, pineapples, coconuts, papayas and mangoes.
