... Every now and then there is a police officer standing in the middle of the traffic, in vain trying to control the traffic but it makes no sense. The chaos is uncontrollable.
... even though we showed him a card with the address written in Sinhalese. We figured that we could direct him once he got to the Parliament House. But, Mark gave him a bum steer, and managed to get us lost. I was soooo angry, as he over rode my directions to the driver (which were correct). ... I shall be able to check later today and it will be considerably later as my body clock seems to have settled down into an all too familiar pattern. I awoke at 0515 local time this morning bright and breezy and with no chance of getting back to sleep and so I find myself typing away at just after 0600. It cannot be normal jetlag as I have been here over a week so who knows what is driving me to bed at ridiculously early hours and ...
... so I'm now finishing this from Colombo. Spent a night in Colombo, which is the capital. Stayed with the guy I know from school, Sean. Colombo is quite a modern city, lots of high rise financial buildings and lots of new bars and restaurants. Not much else to say really about it really!!! Loved Sri Lanka. Loads more places I want to see so will hopefully come and visit again one day. Now at the airport waiting for our flight to Kuala Lumpur. Hope you enjoy the photos. Bye for now ...
