... For those of you
not aware, this is a Belfast expression used to say to someone, "Do you
think I'm stupid / niaive / green or whatever." I doubt even my English
friends could have deciphered it and it was pretty priceless. When it
was obvious he was not getting any money and had been rumbled he made
his excuses and left, as the expression is.

Sorry mate, you were charming, you didn't try to hit me for too much but you lost.

  • Pol Sambol - coconut, chilli and lime diced up very fine and provided with most meals.
  • String Hoppers - sort of noodle pancakes. Sort of like minature fishing nets.
  • Egg Hoppers - a riceflour crispy pancake bowl with a fried egg in it.
  • Spicy beetroot thing - can't remember the name but you get the idea.
  • Dahl - fairly standard but very tasty.

... Apart from that we've had a read in the sun, a little swim and another huge dinner that would easily feed 6 in the UK. Tomorrow we are going to Colombo and will be eating with Halanthe (our host from Wahacotte) and his family which we are of course looking forward to. We are struggling on what to bring him as a gift for having us though (he is tee-total) so if anyone thinks of anything let us know! xxx
