... I've been away. AirAsia has just gone down in my estimations. Arriving in Bali I was confused at first by the signs directing me to the pay kiosk for visas. Most people seemed to go to them. I was fairly sure I didn't need one so I just strode past to emigration and hoped for the best. Fortunately there was no trouble and then I was faced with my wife standing there waiting for me. It's funny seeing someone like your wife after a few weeks ...

... a couple of cheap bottles of bubbles and taxi home. Chilled out on the Day Bed, swimming in our pool, drinking bubbles until it was time to wander down for High Tea. Not something that we would usually pay for but what the hell it was an inclusion on our package. ... dinner!

The last time we were in Kuta we were driven mad by the constant heckles of ‘taxi?’, ‘massage?’ and other such requests to part with our money so this time we had plan of action!...A sign to one and all stating that we required no such services. And unbelievably it worked! The sign was so well received by the locals, everyone laughed, gave me high fives and wanted pictures with us showing that ...

... the rest of the trip fit into play.

When I got to the airport, my driver was waiting for me with a sign with my name. I don’t know why it made me giggle, but it did. His name was Ah Gum and we had a pleasant talk on on drive up to Jiwa Damai. Once thing I noticed about Bali, when someone asks you where you are from and you say America, there first response is.. Oh Barack Obama, or Obama Barack. EVERY TIME. I guess it has to do with ...
