... Straight away the wind was force 6 and gusting at 8. Three times waves crashed over J, thankfully the sea is warm and he had his swimmers on. We had a fast but quite uncomfortable sail for the first couple of hours, the boat tipping over a lot. Then the wind died down as J moved closer to the shore and then all of a sudden, the wind changed direction and became north east after having been north west ...

          Carlairi to Aritzo

... environmentally fused into a hill. It is interesting that the work on restoration began in1951 and one wonders where the money for the work came from. En route to Aritzo the village of Laconi was holding celebrations for St Ignatius - the only Sardinian saint. We visited the market and Leo purchased sox at bargain price but later discovered that the sox had no heel. Driving to Aritzo required negotiation more hairpin turns. ... town this weekend

          2. There was a parade (we missed it)

          3. There would be go-karts (friendlier than the Pista ones!)

          4. There would be music

Sounded like fun to us, so after dinner on Saturday night we headed into town to check it out! The music was blaring from both the music stage and the bumper cars, which was a party on its own! In stark contrast to festivals in the states, anxious riders stood on the edge and when the ...

The rest of our time in Arbatax

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 23, 2014

... up and up there I hope.

Our room at this resort was classified as being within one hotel and the resort had many different "hotels". It's quite a big place, enough so they manage to have the wildlife retreat in the middle and have something like 11 pools and 5 or 6 private beaches. We only visited the one beach that was close to our hotel as we wanted our time there to be more about relaxing and not planning more excursions. However, had we wanted to we could ...
