Stop in Berne, the capital city of Switzerland en route to Lake Genève. Visit the town of Montreux, famous for its Jazz Festival, before enjoying a lakeside drive to Evian les Bains on the southern slopes of Lake Genève. Departed Zurich at 9am to head to Bern. We had no preconceived ideas on what Bern would like, but when we drove into Bern, it is just jaw droppingly beautiful. No words could explain how beautiful this place is. Have a look at ...

Yesterday we lazed around watching the boats in the lake while Luke watched Clash of the Titans (for school ...

... The waterfalls were fantastic and worth the cycle to them. We haven't swam in the beautiful blue lake. It's too blooming cold. A note: La Pergola Camping initially disappointed. It was extremely late getting itself organised for the season. We seemed to arrive with others putting them into a state of shock. But as always you bed in. A special mention for the lady at reception who was so helpful in trying to organise a taxi for our trip to Miriblis restaurant for ...

I'm thinking of a jazzy title for this entry.

... by for another rescue mission.

Anyhow, back to today. I walked along the lake shore for 7 hours to get here. It started in the rain and it remained quite gloomy even after it stopped. Above me on the hillside were terraced vineyards that surprised me a little as I didn't know the Swiss went in for wine-making. I also passed a building designed by the famous architectarchitect, Le Corbusier. It didn't look quite as grand as the one I've seen in Zurich, but I only managed to see ...
