... We make it just in time, shaken and angry. We report to the port authorities, but are unable to report to police until we dock tomorrow in Naples. The ship staff are incredibly accommodating and we spend the rest of the night on the phone canceling cards and passports and trying to figure out how to arrange new ones. We headed off early from Amalfi for another cliff side bus trip to Salerno. Only 30 kms but one hour fifteen minutes of tricky bus driving at Italy's exhilirating best. Joined the train at Salerno for a six hour trip down the coast to Messina. At that point we viewed Italian skills at their best.
