... doesn't exist anymore (at least I think that's what it is). I wish people would mention something as important as a fort no longer being in existence anymore! When we finally made our way to the museum, we found out that it was free and that because it was the holidays, the hours were extended ... what awesome news! So we went in and saw the sights, I don't think Xian was that impressed. Ming and I took our time and I wasn't sure if they felt bad about ...
Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. teamrocket8... br><br>I could get a ferry to Ulleungdo from either one of two ports, and opted for the one slightly further afield as was easier to reach from Suwon. Pohang was approximately four hours away by a direct train, and I could leave late on the Sunday afternoon before boarding the 10am ferry the following morning. Unfortunately when I arrived at the train station I discovered the train was fully booked, forcing me to postpone my ...
Pohang, Korea Rep. will... to what we got in the end, but it was still all good and we got our tummies filled. After that we decided to literally take a raincheck from looking at further temples or sights and went back to our hotel to sit out the rainy day there. In the evening - the rain still went on - we went on a mission to find a restaurant but were unsuccessful and ended up eating at the hotel restaurant which another guest told us was rather average ...
Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. birkborkassonThat is certainly my tip for anybody coming to Korea. I must admit that I have never been more afraid in my life to do even the most simple things, like leaving my flat, taking the bus or ordering in a restaurant. The fear of leaving your flat for the first time is that you may never find your back. A scenario that I joked about with my mother when she asked me "what is the worst thing that could happen?", and a scenario shared by Rick ...
Ulsan, Ulsan, Korea Rep. jonathanholt... royalty from around 5th Century AD. Visited the Tumuli Park, the Noseo-Dong Tombs and the Cheomseongdae Astrological Tower. The tumuli were just small hills covered with yellow grass. The only one that was open to public contained replicas, rather than the actual thing. The astrological tower, which supposedly is the oldest of its kind in East Asia, wasn't impressive either. On the other hand, I enjoyed the Gyeongju National Museum. The ...
Gyeongju, Korea Rep. muratcan... bikini og ekstra bh. Nitte!
Gyeongju, Korea Rep. wish... her newborn daughter to the monk so that the bell would ring properly. After the bell was recast with the baby in it, the bell rang perfectly. It's said that when the bell is rung, you can hear the baby's cries to her mother. The mother, after hearing her baby crying for her when the bell rang, donated her hair to the monks. Supposedly, the monks could hold up this incredibly heavy bell with the strands of the ...
Kyongju, Korea Rep. connieyc... swimming skills.. (if you dont get it : floods) Well we dont like it long in one place, or we would but the schedule's tight, so the second day we took a daytrip to nearby hills to see a temple and more autumn colors. It was alright, laid-back day. That's it in Gyeongju. I try to do something fun in the next place..or at least write you something hilarious. I wouldnt like you to quit reading my adventures.. ;D Take care, N
Gyeongju, Korea Rep. norsu... hood pulled tight around her face, and Brianne bringing up the rear while trying to hold an umbrella over her head (the only unintelligent one without a rain jacket), and maneuver her brake-less bike through the puddles. [haha- i can laugh about it now.] By the time we got back to the barn, we were completely drenched- but we no longer had the steam shower, computer, and projector to enjoy- so we changed and left the musty room to seek out ...
Gyeongju, Korea Rep. brianneinjapan... lots of regular soju, and plenty of fun. Jinu (the new captain of the Mugeodong Yes!) announced that every table would get a free bottle of soju in honor of Jaeyong's birthday (Jaeyong essentially owns the Yes!) and that was hilarious. Especially when Jaeyong and Brandon went around with the cart to deliver and share the bottles. It was quite the event, with the usual four (me, Brandon, Melissa, and Stephen), Kang, Yuran, Jisaeng, Hyunji and her cousin, and ...
