    ... should have docked. There was already another ship docked there so we were not allowed to dock. It is amazing how quickly the weather can change. It can be relatively calm and then suddenly become very windy. We were able to dock at Bronnoysund. It is a very tiny town. We were told to buy ice cream at a shop near the harbor. It is suppose to be the best ice cream in Norway. It was good but not the best I've eaten. Certainly not as good as the ice cream on the ...

    ... time to get off the bus and sit in the lounge area fro a while.

    It appears that the group has been hit by colds with sneezing, sniffling and coughing up and down the coach. I'm over my sore throat which I had for 2 days.

    We stopped at a nice little place for lunch which sat beside a robust waterfall overlooked by a troll. We had a cream of mushroom soup and bread, sort of like prison food. It was 95 krone which is about $16 and the cheapest thing available. ...

    For a day that was largely going to be spent doing pretty much nothing, I had to get up pretty early. We were crossing the Arctic Circle heading south and there was going to be a ceremony out on deck to mark the occasion. The announcement was made about 10 minutes before we were due to reach it and I hurried up to deck 7 just in time to see Vikingen Island approaching on the starboard side.     Today the weather improved, and the views continue to be fantastic. The temperature is in the 30s, but with mostly sunshine, which is the prospect for the rest of the trip. A few samples of the many pictures I shot are below.

    The coastal inner passage created the name of the country, as the WAY to the NORTH. We just passed the town of Rorvik a couple of hours ago. The sun sank below the horizon about 10:30, but it is still light enough for picture taking. In about three hours the sun will reappear.
