Another day of cruising on the riverboat as we make our way to Provence. Today, a three hour stop in Tain l'Hermitage where we toured a winery (with just horrible wine), the Valrhona chocolate boutique (Barefoot Contessa says this is the best chocolate in the world), and an art gallery. It was an interesting night's sleep beside the lake, being interrupted by noises from the assorted wildlife, including what sounded like chattering. ... Saone to Lyon. A galley tour was available today as well, it is surprisingly small but very well organised. They use induction in the galley, no gas. We had a chocolate tasting in the afternoon from Valhrhona chocolates. Yum! Our last stop on the tour was at a building where executions took place during the Spainish Inquisition. The walls are scattered with bullet holes from this time. Apparently children were once shot there. Today the wall is used by kids to kick soccer balls again. It was a very sobering thought as we stood there trying to take in it's past and present.
