Monday & Tuesday Oct 27 & 28 Overcast skies greeted us as we walked to the La Madeleine area which has a flower market and an ancient Greek looking church. It also has Fauchon, a food and chocolate shop. After buying chocolate and having coffee and cake we moved on to Boulevard Haussmann enjoying the sunshine. Sonya and Kathy both bought down jackets which are a fashion craze in Europe. John got a leather bag while David was very restrained ...

... nothing more than expensive shops . Inside it felt like we were in an airport duty free shopping centre , so we left abruptly in search of the beauty of Paris. Just as the sun was setting we came across the Musee Du Louvre and the Arc De Triomphie and our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower in the distance . Right on cue the tower began to 'twinkle ' as it welcomed us to ...

One of the best things about it too was there were hardly any tourists. So you weren’t shoulder to shoulder with people, getting bumped, having other photographers in your way and all that. ...

Had my appointed telephone call with the Notaire to discuss French wills. All sorted and thankfully not necessary. Bit overcast today so we got a bit of work done, went out and took some prints to be framed, coffee at KB and bought some flowers. Decided a lunch at Cafe Matisse was in order. Senior madam wasn't there and when I asked it appears she has hurt her ankle and is going to be off for ten day. ...

... few times over, and was really stunning. We circled around and also saw the little apartment that Gustav (Eiffel) had included. Novel place to have a study...right at the top,of his tower!

We then dropped back down to the bottom and returned to the Bus, aiming to hop off near the Louvre/Musée D'Orsay and wander. Was cool to see a few stalls along the banks of the Seine, and when we hopped off there were a few artists with some drawings and paintings ...
