... meal. We had Quiche Lorraine, salad, and bread. The others had wine, I stuck to water. The quiche lorraine was so good that I had 4 pieces! Apparently, I was hungry. The others had cheese afterwards and I can't remember the name. It was something stinky that I tried even though I knew I wouldn't like it. Of course, I didn't like it. We talked more over dinner and then everyone got ready for bed. Again, everyone is asleep while I work on the ...
Belleville, Île-de-France, France themattsWell I officially have jet lag. I woke up this morning at 2:30am and could not go back to sleep. I finally got out of bed around 4:30am, I worked on the computer and went out for an early breakfast. Kim and I went to a cafe that was in the Hotel Voltaire. It was very good, we had scrambled eggs, cafe O'Lait and croissants. We talked and then met up with the others. Today we went to Sacre Coeur which had the best view of the city. It was amazing...a ...
Paris, France danas... Disappointed, floor 2 was as high as I could get. While we were waiting, a man in a Buggles Cap, started sneaking up on people as they were taking pictures or walking by. Suffice to say, it was rather funny seeing these people jump, and they ( in return ) took it for what it was, in good spirit. He was very entertaining, and when done, he asked for donations. I must say, that busking is quite a way of life in Paris. More so than in London. I gave. He was worth it. He ...
Paris, France supalen... come! So forget everything that I had just said about me not doing much of anything in Paris because my boots-well shoes- are made for walking and that is just what they did. After finishing my cafe I decided to wander about the local neighborhood just to see what trouble I could get into. As I was walking around I stumbled upon a bus station/tram map that showed my relative position according to some rather well known historical monuments in Paris ...

Paris, Île-de-France, France addicted2travel... being that it was just a chance to sit and relax. After arriving, we were able to buy Metro (subway) tickets using Kerry's seven words of French that he knows by heart. Luckily it worked and we got on the Metro with all of our suitcases in hand. Our hotel is in a great location. It's called Timhotel. We love calling it Timmy for some reason. We're across the street from the Metro, lots of shops, cafes, just ...
Paris, France ktowntrvlrsWhen we arrived in Nice we were running late after the flight had been deleyed by a few hours. It must have been about 11pm by the time we left the airport. I had already called the travel company and said that we would be running late and was reassured that somebody would still be at the hotel to greet us. We managed to all jump into a taxi which took us to a quiet residential area. He jumped out of the car to check that we had got ...
Nice, France kvickers... on shady benches and an artist paint the tulips in the late afternoon sun. The day was winding down and we had but one more thing to check off our list: the Latin Quarter. We slowly made our way through hidden streets, off Ile de la Cite and onto the South Bank. Here I found my new love - Takara. The jewelery-lover in me was ecstatic with this find. Hundred of unique earrings, bracelets, necklaces and scarves - all beautifully displayed in a wonder of colour ...
Paris, France jen86... the gallery, we were both completely exhausted and ended up skimming through, looking only for artists we knew the names of, and not taking much of anything else in. The good news though: We saw a number of works by all four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I still loved Paris, and once again, I found everyone to be helpful and courteous. I think that if I could live anywhere in the world, with no language barriers, it would be here.
Paris, France daridah... would be our first and last disaster of any magnitude during the trip. We were incorrect. At the airport we were startled to find that both of our bags were heavier than the permitted twenty-one kilos. At the request of the lady checking us in I removed two boxes of matches from deep within my enormous suitcase, which made absolutely no difference to the scales. She didn't care, which was something of a relief. I bought one of those bags that you wear around your ...
