The countryside calls...
Enjoying a relaxed day in the countryside at my brother's: I had breakfast, sat outside in the sun for a bit, had a shower, had lunch, went for a bike ride (2nd one this year, after about 5 years of not getting on a bike! I'd actually forgotten how to ride a bicycle...) in the deep countryside. Saw some geese, ducks, houses being built, lots and lots of trees and chestnuts on the ground. The sun was warm and the air was fresh. Perfect. But now my bum is a little sore.

... klimmen en ik merk dat als mijn knieen gekoeld worden met regenwater ze beter presteren. Vandaag bijna niet tegen mijn fiets lopen duwen. Jammer van die lekke band na een uur. De tweede al tijdens onze reis. Al snel komen we in het Pyreneeëngebied. De begroeiing en de huizen zien er heel anders uit. Mooi. Door de laaghangende bewolking is er van de bergen niet veel te zien. De dag verloopt verder ...

... and I always learn a bit more, but it's not enough! I find French so hard! When I'm there, I am used to their voices so I can pick out a few words out of a sentence, then I just guess what they are saying, sometimes I'm right......other times I'm VERY wrong!
This year it felt a bit weird being there for some reason, it's just so familiar to me now, it's almost like a second home the way it feels. But ...
Grey, and not so grey
