A bit of back and forth reattaching the awning but we eventually cracked it! Then delish barbie of chicken and steak and bits before Sherlock Holmes movie and sleepy bed! Toilet breaks were enhanced by the beautifully clear sky and the very nearly full moon. Thursday The original plan for today was to visit the gardens in Villandry. We arrived at Camping Le Pont Romain, ACSI 1458 at lunchtime so had to wait two hours for reception to reopen so we headed to a supermarket. We were pretty miffed that the book had claimed "a few kilometres from the town centre" and we are actually 5 miles from Le Mans. We looked on the satnav for any campsites closer ...

... off, nervous grins and dodging rain our prepubescent guide on a moped arrived. We formed up like excited school boys and made our way down to the track side, it had stopped raining but it was really wet, I was pretty nervous. My passenger was chirpy and talkative which was no bad thing.

As we waited to be released onto the track the Shropshire couple in the plus 4 nearly ran down a Marshal as he changed his mind about letting them through ...
