    We moved on to Juno Beach, where the Canadian soldiers came ashore. They walked right up to the buildings that are right on the beach - the other beaches bordered open land. While we were on Juno Beach we saw several WWII planes fly over. We expect there will be more tomorrow along with reenactments of some of the battles.

    ... we had a nice enough salad and glass of vino before we set out to explore the rest of the town. A big walk along the boardwalk to the beach, blowing a gale so didn't linger and a meander through the botanical gardens before it was time for a cup of something hot!     ... while the Germans manned their strong hold and the Great Bunker they took shifts in the bunkers and staying in homes and the hotel. The hotel was the first villa to be liberated on the beach. There must have been many spirits walking the halls of the Hotel while we slept. They had a rooster and two hens on the property that greeted you.
