... look at it as quite a gruesome and not fun place to be however if you look beyond what took place you can see what an amazing place this really is. The architecture is second to none and to withstand thousands of years of use and weather and changes of government and even countries is truly mind blowing. As I was sitting there listening to the audio I was trying to imagine the arena filled with just over 20,000 spectators calling ...

We took a side path and ended up on the top level of the aqueduct and were surprised to see how deep and wide the channel was, to imagine the amount of water flowing through this funnel each day is beyond comprehension for the day, there was approximately 2,000,000 (two million) cubic litres ...

For the passenger, it was a continuous scene of peering over a low stone wall into the canyon 800 feet below while wondering if the motorcycle daredevils coming towards you on your side of the road were going to veer back into their lane in time to avoid a smash-up. All of this to the sounds of ambulances wailing in the distance. Woo Hoo!, This really is living on ...

... They have purchased divine chocolates from a local chocolatier and we walk with them on our way back to the car to purchase a selection, But sadly it is only 1.30 and the shop is closed as is the custom and we forgo the delights of chocolate. We definitely will be returning to Aix en Provence. Not to trip over but to take in the sights in such a quaint little town. The floral gardens were absolutely gorgeous in this very touristy village.
