A late summer's day

A town called Auxerre
... by the life size Mary Poppins holding pride of place in the main hall of the cathedral. In case you are doubting, see the pic below. This building also housed an impressive Gallo-Roman museum of artefacts found locally. Very impressive. Auxerre is a much more intact medieval town than some others we have been to. My theory tested

Fun with the horses & herb garden
... herb farm, where a husband and wife who are both biology professors have ten acres with four ponds, horses, a working donkey, and grow their own herbs and sell them to restaurants and pharmaceutical companies. It was very educational ~ we learned about edible flowers, how to grow saffron, etc.
We came back to MC house and she made some churros (we used to eat them a lot in Spain)

Winery & Christian LaCroix exhibit
... exhibit ~ a world famous designer who had his beautiful costumes on display from the Paris Ballet and Opera.
Afterwards we had some crepes.
Now Philippe is cooking dinner ~ ravioli, duck, and assorted mushrooms.
We are having a really fun time and are being treated like royalty by Philippe's family.
We will stay here another day then Wednesday morning head out for the South of France for a week.
