... had a wonderful picnic at the base of the Tower and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. Today we finally seem to have a slight break in the weather. It is sunny & even a little warmer :) We have a tour booked for The Louvre at 9.45 so left to walk there about 9ish. It was a little bit chaotic getting names marked off and getting our audio guides, as the company appeared to have 3 or 4 individual groups departing at the same time and many clients were panicking that they may miss out!!! It was 5:30pm by the time we arrived and we decided to take the short queue (which meant climbing approx 700 steps and only waiting 15mins vs over an hour) to the second level (€5 each) which we did non stop (in just over 10mins!) and then paid a further €6 each to take the elevator (only means) to the very top level.
