Hey all, <br>We were in Carcassonne the other day...<br><br>We got off the night train from Paris at 7 am. it was really dark and foggy, so we stayed in the Train station a little while before adventurin out to find our hotel... the hotel was said to be far from the train station, so we decided to take a walk and try to figure out the buses... we walked quite a ways in the fog, We were on a mission to find bus 12, that was the bus that would take us to the hotel... we walked ...

We went to Casino (no mom it wasn't actually a Casino it was the name of the grocery store) and bought some things for dinner including a bottle of wine. <br>In the morning we woke up and got all packed and ready to go. The staff at the hotel were super nice and let us leave our bags with them so we could go to the medeival city for the morning before heading back into town. So we headed back to the city and this time took a horse drawn wagon ride around ...

... walls, there are shops, restaurants, and hotels. Everything still functions as a city, except the castle. We wandered around for a little over an hour. We tried the infamous chocolate olives. Fran had spent some time here and she told us to try them. I thought it looked and tasted like an almond M &amp; M. We had crepes with Nutella and grabbed a pannini on the way out. <br>

In preparation for our trip to Barcelona the next day I tracked down a Sangria, yum! <br><br>That night we stayed in the new town opposite the main square where they had a Spanish festival happening. After dinner a few of us decided to go for a wander around town. One of the couples had the unfortunate experience of witnessing a homeless person give their dog an extremely friendly rub, if you know what I mean ...

It affords gorgeous views, has a patio area that is terrific. The inside is pretty generic but what a location, next to 5 star hotels. <br><br>I get out just in time to get into the castle itself which is a museum. ... 2pm. We wandered down to the information centre and used the free internet facilities to do some admin. Later we wandered around the old town admiring the 14th century cathedral and the roman ruins. Cesca found a 'Chic chien' shop full of goodies for Crumbs but unfortunately it was closed. We booked a train ticket over the internet as I didn't trust my French vocab and then went to try and pick it up from the station. Not a good move as it turns out as my credit card wouldn't ...

... plina te terase. Ne-am ocupat locurile la masa si am trait cea mai neplacuta experienta culinara din Franta, din pacate. Am constatat de cand ne-am asezat ca "something was going on" intre ospatari, ca au ceva conflict intre ei in desfasurare. Din principiu evit astfel de medii, asa ca am vrut sa plecam.
