Ornella's sister, Sabrina, bought us a selection of salami's from their hometown in Calabria so we had a European breakfast of delicious salami, comte and emmental cheeses, boiled eggs, tomato and of course, baguette, it was delicious, . So, with that under our belts, we went over to the left bank and visited the Musée Cluny.. It was fabulous, the tapestries take your breath away, the skill and detail are exceptional and the small mystery of the meaning and origin of ...

Wed Oct 22. After breakfast in the hotel lobby we caught a taxi to the Louvre (our hotel is a bit out of town). Joined the queue to get into the Louvre, lucky we joined when we did! To my dismay the local boulingerie was closed so I returned to the apartment empty handed. With all of ...

After a late night of watching team USA, there was no way we were catching an 8am train to Versailles as Rick Steves would have advised. Fortunately, he provided a plan for late risers and we followed that one instead. We took our time getting around and caught the 11am train out to Versailles. Being a suburb of Paris, it was a relatively quick trip once you actually get out of the city. We arrived at the train station around 11:45, but while the majority of the crowd headed ...
