... An unidentified soldier is buried underneath it and the flame is lit each evening still 6..30pm, so it never goes out. A great atmosphere and lots of tourists, but generally it is nowhere as crowded as we thought it would be in Paris. The traffic around the Arc is crazy with no line markings on the Avenues and cars and tourists darting everywhere - a bit like a Vietnamese round-about! Sunrise is around 6.00am and sunset around 9.30pm so lots of daylight hours to do ...
