... within walking distance and soon we were having dinner salads with chicken, ham, eggs and cucumbers. Dessert was a first for us....two hard candies and an orange sucker. It wasn't the best French food that we hope to have in the next few weeks; but we were very hungry and it fit the bill for tonight. Tomorrow we will ride into Paris and begin our search for really good food amidst some of the most recognizable sights of any city on the planet.

... Gab heard the last train was leaving in a few minutes, we bolted for the last train to Paris and made it with just 18 minutes to spare. We got back to the Champs-Elysee around 1am and after some clowning in the not too empty streets and a dodgy taxi ride back to the apartment we didn't get to bed until 2am. 25.6k steps today for me so you can imagine how trashed the kids were - no one woke before 10 the next morning :)

... up passengers ahead of us and deduced that we would probably need two taxis to accommodate all of our disproportionately large luggage. Unlike London where all taxis are identical (and fairly large), it would appear that just about any vehicle can be turned into a taxi in Paris. When it was finally our turn, the next available taxi driver assured me that he could accommodate the four of us and all of our suitcases in his station wagon. I was ...

... dining room where the King and Queen took their meals with an audience. Now it was time to drop off our car and take another train (oh yay) and head to Paris. We were in the train station, validating our tickets at the turnstiles with our luggage, and I tried to go through the turnstile with my suitcase and I got stuck. The turnstile was stuck and hitting the top of my suitcase so I couldn't go through with it. I had no choice to back out of the turnstile and push ...
