After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!<br>

... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!

First, anyone who thinks the beaches at Nice are good have never been to any beach in Florida, or Ocean City for that matter. Rocks everywhere. The water was a very pretty blue, but getting there would require shoes and lying out for a sun would require some padding ...

On arriving at our destination town we were immediately led away, up and over a hill that seemed to last forever to the campsite on the shore of a nearby lake. Unfortunately with nowhere to eat at the campsite this meant we would have to trudge back up and over into town for dinner, cue a massive thunderstorm and torrential rain. So didn't quite get to Barcelona. I got the trains mixed up so I had to come to Nice France for one day, darn.... Actually now that I am here I wish I could stay longer but I really want to see Barcelona that has been on my itinerary since day one and I will not miss it, even if it is only for 3 days.
