... were fab...really nice day walking around. Jason decided to watch villa on the internet instead of going to local french soccer game. they lost 2-1, maybe its better if he doesn't watch as they seemed to do better the last few games when he wasn't watching. Had a really good dinner tonight, regional specialty (crepes again) with apple cider.

heading south again tomorrow, and we'll see how far we get and where we end up.

... that is my other half (ie Jamie), and never been keen to raise my head above the proverbial parapet. But for the historic reason of the jasonandjamie blog (or is it named the other way around?), I think I need to make an exception. There are of course, a couple more reasons for this...
1. Jamie can't spell.
2. I don't want a one sided blog...
3. **** stories have got to be curtailed..
4. Jamie is getting too verbose about our trip (I mean, who wants to ...

Goodbye Canal

... closing for the season. Fortunately on our way to the campground we say a riverside park area that allowed ‘camping cars’ to spend the night - and it was packed! Deciding that if campervans could camp then so could we (not that we had any other choice). Camped out at a picnic table we awaited dusk to pitch the tent. I knew it would be hard to beat last night’s dream campsite!

In the meantime ...

Je t'aime pour la vie

... br>
June 20, 2009

Today I got up fairy early and met Steph to go to the Marché Talensac. It's a huge market where they sell fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, wines, bread, clothes, shoes, bags, rugs, etc. EVERYthing is in this market. It was so cool. I was walking around not really planning on buying anything, but this little 9 year old boy talked me into buying a watch for 5 euro. It came with an extra battery which was nice and it totally made this boy's day. After I paid for ...

Royal de Luxe: Une histoire des géantes

... to leave the café, and ask the owners if they know where the giants are. They didn't, but Brenda looked on her computer and it was revealed that the girl was sleeping at La Republique. She gave us directions and we were off. When we got there the girl was still very asleep. She was even snoring. We wait there for a long while and then she finally wakes up. This time she does not get in her boat. She puts some shoes on and takes off walking. We take another path to meet ...

Finally

... in my French class. May 15th, 2009 Today's classes were alright, but not great. Both classes, due to their free stars, get to play games Monday. Which means that 4 out of my 5 classes are playing games on Monday. That won't be stressful at all. Hopefully Eugenie does come to help me in the afternoon. After those classes I decided to skip my observation class and met Eugenie at the elephant. We finally got to ride the elephant!! It's 45 minutes of the slowest car ride ...

CIDEF Reunions!!

... up all over centre ville. It was so packed and crazy, I haven't seen anything like it in Nantes before. We walked around there and met up with Cara, John, and Graham. It was rainy and cold so we hopped in a café to hang out for a bit. After that Jeff and I walked through this big fair type thing and Jeff got some cotton candy. This is when my cough attack started. Ugh. You know what I'm talking about right? When you can't stop coughing for the life of you and that ...

... around the old town and the port can make one hungry and thirsty so we had lunch in a little restaurant in the old part of town. Brian negotiated the roads really well in the Citroen BX we have at our disposal, courtesy of Alan, so we have made other little excursions to a mediaeval garden and to a couple of shopping centres about 10 kms away. The garden was really interesting with ...

River Loire - Cities, Chateauxs and Gardens

... sleepy villages. Stopped at an interesting town called Champtoceaux that had a huge early medieval fort to guard the passage of unwanted boats - or those that did not pay their tolls. Destroyed completely at the end of the middle ages, the site is now a private residence with some parts turned into public park areas. Enjoyed the commanding views that I shared with a group of school children eating pack lunches in the open ...

30000 Leagues from Australia?

... of future technologies, such as '30000 Leagues Under the Sea'. Getting back to the last full day in Toulouse, we again stayed local, walking further to discover more of the local culture and heritage. It was a very late start for us, breakfast became brunch on foot, eating as we wandered dozn the enchanting alleys and through the parks and big squares to view more of Toulouse's highlights. We visited several old churches, as well as a large Basilica to the north ...
