... day and we had limited bags, so decided to walk to the hotel and see the sights before we checked in. It is very hard to miss the Chateau of the Ducs du Bretagne and we circled this. It is beautiful, with the moat and drawbridge still in place. But a Chateau in the middle of the town was quite fantastic!

The new government has been formed in France and I am sure every French person is captivated by the announcements. Interestingly the Minister of Education is Najat Belkacem, first woman to hold Education and there are 8 woman appointed out of 16 ministers. vive les femmes!!The left has held the majority and it will be business as usual hopefully but I am sure there will be some grumbling ...

The following morning we piled in the car to go to Tallensac the large covered market in Nantes. We were lucky to go early enough to avoid the weekend traffic, vacationers returning for La Rentree or the start of the school year. The traffic conditions were noted orange for heavy traffic and we saw them all waiting bumper to bumper on our way back.
