We awoke this morning for our last traditional Japanese breakfast at the minshuku. Afterwards we relaxed for a little bit and then headed out to wander the main street of Shirakawago on our way back to the bus station for our bus to Kanazawa. Did i mention temples
... i later found out wasn't as good value as i thought it would be because unlike Tokyo the only real way to get around is by bus.

... is the day after Typhoon Talas arrives in Japan.
Unlike Tokyo, Kyoto appears to be more accessible and easier for us to get around without getting lost. First of all, there are only two subway lines unlike the multiple options available in Tokyo. Second of all, the streets are in a grid-like pattern, which makes it easy to navigate. We were able to find our hotel without any problems!

My new favourite city
... Gio-ji has a stunningly beautiful garden layered with moss - and I wanted to see lots of moss in Japan - which two women were busily attending to with their green fingers a blur. The scene was right out of my wildest Japanese fantasies and I took a seat to take in the tranquility and serenity.
