This sprawling complex from the 13th centaury spanned several acres along the hill with some amazingly intact churches/fortresses and streets.     ... I love Turkish Delight"... well.... the minute it was out of her mouth she knew her mistake, she sort of blushed and said "oooo I didn't mean to say that" while at the same time Aris cried "no, not turkish delight"!!! Talk about a "don't mention the war" moment!! He must have forgiven her though cos he insisted on spoon feeding it to her whilst Deb and I were just handed spoons to get our own! Finally we escaped and made our way down to the town clutching the mud map Aris had drawn ...

    ... a nice view over the whole town. Coming down again( you can see how steep from the photo with the steps on) I passed a square with some nice fountains. There are shops around here as well as little cafes with people sitting outside eating or drinking. I also passed the odd church here and there. The highlight of today was the sunset as today there was no breeze and the water looked like a mirror. We again got our salads and ate on the roof top.

    After finishing up our adventures in Central and Northern Greece we returned to Athens to regroup and embark on the next leg of our trip.
