    An early start, as we had an 8am train to catch to Nagoya. Our time in Takayama is over after three days and the sun is out for a second day. The forecast is 33C.
    Our train trip was 2 1/2 hours and we only took an overnight bag with us as we are doing a one night stay. Our luggage has been forwarded by courier to our next hotel. This is a very common practice in Japan so our hotel arranged it all for us. Convenience stores also organise the process for you.

    ... check in, just time to dump our bags & off we went for a walk around the town we went to a museum, a shrine, the Takayama festival float exhibition hall, we then went to the old part of town.
