After a nice stay at the Kuta Lagoon Resort, we moved over the Kuta Seaview Resort which was right across the street from Kuta Beach. The room at the Kuta Seaview was decent, but I think it's more of the location that makes it worthwhile. Other than a bed, a bathroom, and an outdoor balcony, there's not much else. However, the restaurant at the hotel isn't bad for breakfast or dinner since you can sit out on the couch type seats, check out the waves, and people watch. Since Kuta Beach is a bi...

... out of the stall with the dress in a bag and demanding money from me. In the end it was easier just to buy the dress and get out of there alive! It turned out to be half decent! The other interesting buying situation we found ourselves in that day was on the beach! Myself and Disco (the Scottish guy) were chilling out on the beach watching the experienced make the waves look so easy and enjoying the sunshine when we were pounced on by a guy trying to sell us bows and arrows and ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia ciaradoonerush... spent together was priceless. Quality time. Really nice to meet you. I miss all of you.

This trip was so amazing. A lot of things I did for the first time. I could feel a very good vibe. I was so grateful I had the chance. I didn't buy anything but priceless experiences, good moments, beautiful stories, precious lessons, and endless happiness!

As for me, this trip was just the beginning. I wouldn't know my own limit if I didn't travel somewhere. I really want ...
Bali, Bali, Indonesia littleharrison... t what I had expected to find after midnight in Bali. Then we drove past Q Bar; one of the local gay bars. It was packed. In fact it had spilled out onto the street and we had to slow down to void taking out any of the revelers. At last I found myself collapsing on the bed in my hotel room: 37 hours after leaving Toronto.

My first day in Bali was meant to be a relaxing exploratory day. I had nothing planned except to plan something ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia yyztrvlr... lovely husband and his helping hand. Then to add insult to injury just as we get to the top it starts peeing down and while we got soaked our guides erect our tent!! When we finally got inside we were freezing and drenched so we changed and tried to huddle for body warmth while the others made a start on dinner. But we did it...a 10km climb to nearly 3km altitude 9 hours!! It was pitch black now though and we hadn't seen a glimpse of what we'd put all this effort into for ...
Mes ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia france_rejean... like food, paintings and carvings, with presumably our tour people getting a bit of commission, but it was still a good trip. We went to the Monkey Forest in Ubud (these ones didnt steal sunglasses) and drove a bit further to have lunch over an amazing view out to a volcano and a lake. The buffet cost us 100,000 rupiah each though (around 6 quid) which is pretty bloody expensive out here. We saw another temple and a coffee plantation where we were given free ...
Kuta, Indonesia abhishek2008... I was disappointed that the beach was temporarily closed (umm.. resort beach cafe below burnt down!). The tier below the restaurant had another infinity pool, and the tier above it was filled with decor for which the only appropriate music is chilled/beach house/some variation thereof. Apart from the jaw-dropping views, the restaurant was also surprisingly good. As I was already getting the accommodation for free, I spent up on fine dining. For ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia kafir_mel... from Bali belly. SB: Suppose after over 3 months travelling the illness had to come at some point! One of the highlights of the Ubud trip for me was a lunch we had where by chance we were sat next to the owner - Gunnar of the Deli Cats cafe. He was from Iceland and quite clearly liked a drink or 2, and was very, very weird. When I asked the waitress for a cheeseburger he piped up "We don't do cheeseburgers, just Deli burgers with ...
