We live about 2 miles outside Lucca and on a few occasions, have taken the car to a supermercato about 1 mile from the city, parked there, and walked the rest. Just around the corner and on the way, we found a lovely 'pasticerria', (a cake shop) and have been unable to walk past it without stopping there for a cappuccino and a brioche or something similar. ... to try it! We all scarf down our pizza in like 5 minutes.I dont think I will every get sick of their pizza here in Italy...It will never be the same eating pizza in America :(

We sat on the peninsula of rocks and just engaged in the view of the town and the whole coast line. It brings me goosebumps writing about this experience and how gorgeous everything was. It really opened my eyes and made me want to travel all over the world the rest of my life if I could. ...

... ready for a rest and fortuitously found a hotel with a stunning view. After a drink and some ardent dolphin spotting (sadly to no avail), we continued along, walking through a vast array of flora. At one point it was puzzling to see a carpet of decaying oak leaves without an oak tree in sight :/ Bonny's explanation was the Oakfords put them there...haha...I can hear your raucous laugh, Annelies!
