... later we met the mayor of Vilshoffen who invited us to a mini Octoberfest in a tent outside the ship. We walked in a sudden snowstorm from the ship to the tent. We were provided with big soft pretzels and a glass of German beer. There was a band playing traditional Bavarian music. The queen of the beer festival was there to tell us about the dance. ... Ash and Lauren. We got amongst the university students at Campo S.Margherita where the Italian culture is to drink outside in the square in the freezing cold. We are not quite Italian so enjoyed some pasta and a cocktail indoors soaking up the energy and excitement from outside. Venice is also famous for its art and numerous galleries. We decided to go to Mondsee next which is another lake town. It was very pretty as it was surrounded by mountains on all sides. There was one restaurant open there which was right on the lake front and had a lovely view. We had some lunch there and watched the tour busses come through. I'm glad we got a car and can explore in our own time is all I'm going to say about that haha!

There were great Christmas markets in city and photos to be taken of the Convent from 'The Sound of Music'. Long day but interesting. Ros enjoyed it more than any other day I think.
