Love it here in Passau. Our last stop in Germany. Our guide who was French told us that Hitler fell in the river here as a young child and someone saved him. Pity. The old town is beautiful. ... the earth ascended to the heavens? Magical! Joe Ahhhhh.. First day of riding is complete. We are now sitting atop an alfresco dining area above Schlogen bend. It was a gloriously warm day as we began our ride at 12pm from Passau. Our butts are sore, we're feeling tired yet also so relaxed. Cesky Krumlov is my favorite medieval town thus far- indeed, the entire day was a highlight of the tour for me. I think that being over my ailment was a contributing factor to my enjoyment.

... by mid afternoon, dressed in typical Bavarian costume. Yesterday, when we were in Regensburg, was Wednesday 13 th May, the day before Ascension Day, which is a public holiday in Germany. Tonight I asked Leslie if there were any left but there's only high ones so no good for me. Damn! It was a great day but I've decided not to cycle the route tomorrow.
