... I thought I lost my hat and one glove (I took it off to check the pool temp). But couldn't find them. Bob later found them in the hall outside our door!

We docked in Passau and were assigned colored groups - green for us. When you get off the ship you take a "safety card" with you and when you come back on board you hand it it in. It has your room number on it. They know who is missing by which safety cards aren't in their box. When we left Vilshofen there were two ...

... lounge and they called each floor (there are three) half at a time to check in. It took about twenty minutes before they called our floor (we are in the economy class-two port hole windows). Then we were escorted to our room about five minutes later. Very quick and orderly. Sannie and Bruce and Pawp and Jayj are across the hall from us. Our room attendant is Elena! (Mi llamo Elena!) ... We parked in the town and walked to the lake which was very nice in the sunshine.

At the lake there was a pontoon which was nice to walk out onto, the water was amazingly clear in the lake you could see right to the bottom. There was also a little swimming pool which was part of the lake but with steps down to it - I cant believe people actually swim in there!! It was iced over at the sides which shows how cold it is. Its very refreshing walking in the ...

CRUISING DAY - Linz / Salzburg / Passau

Today is Christmas Day and my 62nd birthday!

We disembarked in the morning in Linz and have chosen to take the 'Sound of Music' themed tour for the day. We were bussed into Salzburg 2 hours away minutes away stopping briefly in the Austrian Lake District and at Mondsee to go inside the church where Baron von Trapp and Maria got married in the musical film 'The Sound of Music'.

    Travelled on to Salzburg ...
