... Take A Tour!!...the traffic is too unreliable / no guarantees getting back to ship!!( at all??) Getting around Jakarta is a problem -- the city layout is chaotic and totally bewildering / traffic is described as 'indisputably the worst in South-East Asia' ...with horrendous traffic jams!! Plus - if using taxis - you are advised to keep the doors locked and windows closed!! Needless to say - I am using HAL 'excursion' ( despite my recent rant!!) ...a 5 hr. 'Shopping' ...

... had a bottle of vodka at their house, ready for the main event, which was a big hip hop and r&b club called potato garage �� the club was huuuuge and the DJ was incredible !!! We met loads of Ayu's friends and had lots and lots of free drink �� we danced the night away and had such a good night, we didn't go to bed until about 6am and then slept for most of Sunday. We all went for a big Indonesian buffet ...

... later . We waited in the passport line for a long time only to be told that we should have paid for the visa first. So we got out of line, paid at the other counter and then got back in line again. We are staying with some friends that we met in Ecuador. ... and heat so we weren't looking forward to the day ahead of us. Around midday, we were finally feeling awake and prepared to hit the city. We jumped in a taxi to Kota, the old town of Jakarta. We were surprised to hear our taxi driver spoke such good English and gave us lots of advice. He dropped us at Batavia cafe. We weren't expecting much from looking at the exterior of the cafe, but it was pretty spectacular inside. The colonial decor reminded me of Raffles hotel ...
