Obama og smukke Kauai
... så Obama vinde !! det sidste var vi især glade for da Romney ikke lige virker som den mest sympatiske fyr (afskaffelse af abord og ingen rettigheder til homoseksuelle).
Weekenden bød på den længe ventede tur til Kauai! Hawaii består af forskellige øer hvor Honolulu ligger på øen Oahu. Hver ø har noget forskelligt at byde på og Kauai er kendt som den smukkeste af øerne - og uden at have set nogen af de andre øer, tror jeg gerne på den påstand!! ...
Plane grounded for repairs.
We just got back from flying our plane to Kona on the Big Island and we then took the plane into our mechanic, Tom Williams, for some minor repairs. However, we got some unexpected and bad news yesterday from Tom. He told us that the turbochargers on each of our engines need to be replaced. Apparently they have gotten old and they are leaking exhaust gasses. This could create a fire in the engine and we have grounded the plane until new ...

And once we talked it out and fixed both of our attitudes, the rest of the trip was Me Ke Aloha. Heck, even getting our car towed, dealing with a hostile tow truck driver, having to walk a mile and a half in rain and having to pay $130 to get the car back didn't put a dent in our day.
She is still my best-est travel buddy.
This trip we are no longer polite but real... real love Hawaii!

Den første uge i Waikiki
... også en spøjs asiater der straks påtog sig rollen som tour-guide på vores korte tur frem og tilbage fra UPS. For kort at beskrive hvor mærkelig og absurd dagen var, kan jeg fortælle at vi i løbet af 8 timer fik vi hentet 6 bøger og buskort til Kathrine - ikke særlig effektivt! Heldigvis hjælper det lidt på det hele at dagen imorgen bare skal bruges på stranden hvor vores største bekymring er hvornår vi skal gå ud i vandet :)
