Andddd just like that, it was the weekend! When we got home from work Friday night I was seriously so drained from my busy week. I opted for a much needed gym session and then fell asleep super early watching a movie.. kinda lame, I know, but it felt really good to have a "me" night. We hung for a couple of hours in the water at Sunset Beach, which was flatter than glass. We took a detour again to Haliwa, this time making sure to stop for Shaved Ice (or as the locals call it, Shave Ice) at Matsumotos. I didn't try the beans; but the watermelon flavor was awesome!

As we drove through Waikiki on the way to our hotel, my first impressions was it looked like Surfer Paradise in the 1970s with its similar style of building and the mix of high and low rise accommodation beside each other. ... the Yard House instead... best decision ever! Two beers each (including honey, banana, and strawberry flavours), two plates of wings, one plate of ribs, two shared Macadamia Nut Cheesecakes (YUM), a quick drink at the Hard Rock Cafe, and a last minute dash to Sephora (see purchases in picture!!) later and here I am in bed, about to sign off for the night ready for our 5.30am wake up tomorrow, to catch our flight to Hawaii Island! ... quarters...let's just say the officers had much nicer sleeping quarters than the enlisted men. I have no idea how they survived in those small spaces! Makes me even more grateful to what our military endures to keep us safe! After the Missouri, we had to stop back at the Arizona to pick up our purses and bags. (Did I forget to mention that since 911, you can't carry any type of bags into the memorial?) Just another reminder of what our military does to protect ...
