Historical Traveler Reviews of Kuching Hilton
Nice, pleasant hotel in heart of Kuching
from Sereney
I rate this as the most pleasant hotel in the city area - it's set a little apart (ie 2 min walk) from the main shopping strip compared to the Holiday Inn hotels, but much more pleasant, away from the blare of shopping noise. They upgraded us to the executive floor (bring a Hilton Gold member) & it was a lovely room with access to the executive lounge - free breakfast and pre-dinner snacks. Swimming pool looked a little tired, but the kid's pool looked new & inviting. Tennis court was in a sorry form. Service was pleasant & efficient throughout. Well worth the stay.
Loved Kuching Hilton

We stayed in a suite on the 10 floor, great views of the river, we had access to the executive lounge where a great breakfast was included along with all day drinks and snacks. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This is a great place to stay and we would definitely stay here again.
Perfect service, perfect view

My mother and I stayed here in September 04 and have really fond memories of it. The beds were really comfy (that's the most important thing) the rooms were very clean, and the service was particularly efficient. Our room had a wonderful river view so we could sit on the beds and do some people-watching until late at night. Perhaps the best thing about this hotel was it's location relative to the highlights of Kuching (I'm thinking specifically of the Bazaar) and the great riverside restaurants and bars nearby. We absolutely adored Sarawak and part of that was because of our positive experiences at the Hilton.
Comfy hotel in the middle of Kuching

This is a very comfortable hotel. It's a hilton-so you know you will have a nice room, comfy bed, etc. This hotel is in a great location. You are in the middle of historic Kuching. You can walk down to the river - and get some wonderful satay. There are many cafes, food stalls down there. Very peaceful.
There is a great breakast buffet in the morning-so make sure your room comes with breakfast. Very extensive. Lots of fresh juices. The staff is so helpful. In the lobby, there is a chocolatier, who sells wonderful chocolates and candy.
Our room was very nice. Had great views of the Istana(across from the river). The only downside and this is minor is that the bathroom located a little old. Should be renovated.
Otherwise a really nice hotel. There is another hilton hotel located a few hours away in the jungle called Batang Ai long house. The staff can arrange transport to this hotel if you wish.
Perfect!

Great location, HUGE room, excellent service. Everything you would expect from a Hilton. We had their international buffet every morning for breakfast and room service for dinner just about every night and it still cost us less than $100 per night including gratuity and taxes!
The Place To Stay
from D4AAO
This is an excellent hotel to base yourself at for a stay in the heart of Kuching.
The staff are friendly, informative & helpful. The hotel is what you'd expect of the Hilton brand i.e. 5* luxury. The rooms are of a good size and have amazing view over north Kuching & the Sarawak river (if you want a river view make sure you get an EVEN numbered room number).
There are two restaurants at the hotel, a Chinese & steak restaurant. Whilst I didn't eat in either other people in our party did & said the food was superb. Breakfast is served buffet style & there is wide variety of food to choose from, with a dedicated 'egg chef'.
There is a chocolate/cake stall in reception with most fantastic looking/smelling/tasting treats you could ever imagine.
There is a nice size pool & recreation area, there also two internet computers on the 12th floor. Although I would recommend you use the one of the cyber cafes in Kuching as the charge is 25MYR for 30mins.
Again buy your own water from one of the supermarkets (there is one opposite the main entrance) as the water from the mini bar is daylight robbery.
Good choice for a few days

I spent a weekend at this hotel in September 04. For the price, I would rate it highly (good location, spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff) - although it is nothing special as hotels go.
It does have quite a nice roof-top pool if you need to get away from the riverside hawkers (and I would recommend the laksa from the pool menu).
Excellent Choice

An excellent choice in Kuching - very good and clean rooms and bathrooms, good, polite service and an undeniably excellent breakfast buffet. This hotel is well sitauted on the river front in the middle of town. I had a room at the back and think that the river view rooms at the front might suffer from noise from the mailn road at the front of the hotel. Nice swimming pool area. Paid around $60 for a twin room with breakfast - so no complaints there!
The nicest hotel ever

We stayed in the Kuching Hilton in May 2004, it was the epitome of genteel colonial luxury. Our room was upgraded to a suite with an awsome view of the river. Nothing was too much trouble - I hope I go back one day.
Beautiful hotel with great views
from Zeeland
We have stayed in the Hilton Kuching in 2003 and it was a great experience. Our room was beautiful and what was really amazing was the view we had from our room. The wall at the riverside was completey made from glass so even from our bed we had a wonderful view on the Kuching river below you.
Breakfast was very nice and the location is the best from Kuching.
