      How 10Dh became 40Dh

We were walking through the Souq and came across a hair salon. I thought that I had negotiated a haircut for 10 D (about E1). He seemed to be doing such a good job that I decided to have my beard also trimmed, razor style.

On completion the priced seemed to have quadrupled. I was not unhappy, it was a great job and the cost was still only Euro4 or about $NZ6. I think he was late for prayers, I still had my ears and I was ...

He turns 80 in March, you would never pick it, a very interesting man who in a humorous yet challenging and forthright way discussed his life philosophy and impressions of Morocco and Germany. ... buissness, but u have to try. Sop every Salesman goes to every tourist and stays. Stays maybe 5 Minutes and tries to make u wild for icecream, amuletts or a fancy camel ride for 20 dirham.
After politeloy fencing him off the next seller approaches, one even waited for me until i came out of the water.
They leave u in peace afterwards if u are no buissness, but beware to buy anything from one of them, if u succumb to one, all will be back like bees on a honeypot :)

      Day 052: Another Moroccan Superhike

A travel blog entry by nathanphil on Nov 17, 2011

... I shouldn’t walk through because it’s too dangerous (I did anyways). Now it’s been torn down and 3 storey homes have been built instead.

And then… I reach the garden. Nothing special about it, just a couple benches and trimmed bushes, but this place means a lot to me. It was here, back in the spring of 2000 that I made my second attempt at "Parkbenching"—simply going to a public place and playing music. In ...
