... and i had a rewarding day exploring it. It was the place where the Spanish entered Mexico and became their first settlement, so lots of history. Wandered around a fort, went to see some manatees in an aquarium (they weren´t there) and got chatting to a local historian at the Museum. It was a nice little spot to break up my journey, but i have got my first overnight bus tonight!

Veracruz, Veracruz-Llave, Mexico andycrisp... and proud of my cast. They did a phenomenal job. I can't wait to do it again in Puebla.

I'm making this short as I have to leave for the buses soon but I'm posting some of the pictures that I took last night :) Hopefully in Puebla or Mexico City - our final stop before Europe - I'll be able to find someone to record one of my songs and I'll post it on here as well.

Take care all! See you in Puebla (hopefully with Internet!)

Love, Megan
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... only a very short time. And one must keep his or her mind open to it because that moment never occurs ever again. I've experienced that moment many times in Veracruz. And maybe I choose to finally learn that moment because I feel that my time is running out with UWP. Just think...I have over 3 months down and less than 3 to go until I depart from this amazing group of people.

A moment was experienced at the senior citizen's center yesterday while dancing in the hot heat of Mexico ...
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... pulled up at the USBI and I think I hugged every single one of them!

Tuesday, also Mexico's Independence Day, was the cast's first full day in Veracruz and our first Regional Learning day. We first traveled to the local aquarium, the largest aquarium in the Latin Americas! It was such a great trip and I was so excited for the cast! I could see excitement in their eyes and hear enthusiasm in their voices. They were having a great time as ...

Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... those who are fighting for our country.

As I reflected on yesterday, I started to think about how I need to start working on living in the moment. My parents, boyfriend, and close friends have been trying to pound this into my head for as long as I can remember. However I always seem to be living in different time periods. During college I was always living for the future. What do I need to do next? What is my schedule for tomorrow? How can I plan for a February spring ...
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... we started. After about four hours they start to smell so I would not recommend sitting close to them. When you buy your ticket you have to select a numbered seat so sit closer to the front if the seats are available. We made a few stops along the way and arrived in Tampico right on time. The bus stations are very nice and it's easy to find the bus lines you need without any help from stangers. The next morning I took the ADO bus to Tuxpan and found ...
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico frostforest... the forward head with provisions. There was not much room to get away from conflicting personalities. Newbies have a way of being under foot. It was indeed very crowded. There is an old Chinese proverb, "Behind every able man is another able man". Having a crew of seven made a lot of sense. First, we had two on deck at all times. During the day we had a lot more. Even after one of those late night watches, it was difficult to sleep ...
Veracruz, Mexico lavidanueva... in effort to exchange our tickets for earlier trips back home. While in line we ran into a man from Kentucky, who told us his friend would translate for us, so we wouldn't have so much trouble in changing our travel plans. While waiting in line, the man from Kentucky said that he found out from a friend, that we could take two taxis straight from Veracruz to Xalapa for about 650 pesos (65.00). There are a lot of long stretches of semi-deserted roads ...
Veracruz, Mexico staceyellisonOnce you've got a load to carry, the last thing you want to do is travel. You want to get where you’re going as fast as you can. So I bypass all the little stops along the way, even the big stop in Mexico City, opting instead for the coastal route through Veracruz. I didn’t ...
