... the time or effort and a better experience would be had just trying the beer in a local pub. So the "Lokal" beerhall by our apartments is exactly where we went after the brewery tour for some atmosphere, good beer and some Chesky food. We were hard pressed to find a table due to the crowds but made do and we were quick as we were heading to the Municipal building to hear a small chamber orchestra play some classics. ... meeting point for our day trip to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. As it turns out, it takes about 3.5 hrs to get to the park from Split, whereas it would only take about 2 hrs from Zagreb. There were 2 other couples in our group, who all happened to be from Australia. Plitvice Lakes was magical with its layers of lakes and waterfalls and clear torquise waters. We've seen many natural wonders and this is definitely is on the top of my list.
Well it's been about 16 days since the last summary, and since the 26/12 we have been to an additional 5 countries and 7 cities. Zurich was a short stop and a very expensive stop. Everything when converted to Australian Dollars was even more expensive than Perth. But in the end I am glad we stopped here for the 2 nights as we got to experience some different ranges of snow fall. ... beer of that pub, a dark beer with a nutty flavour. Right behind the beer waiter was the waiter with a tray of a 2 local digestifs...one herbal and one made from honey. What a way to start off lunch, yummy! With the accordion music and the table next to us singing along, it was a lot of fun. The food was good too, goulash, beef with cream (Michelle says it was better than it sounds), sausage, potato soup and a cheese tray. And of course, more beer. Only regret? We ...
