... but was able to sleep for at least half the ride during the day bus on Sunday afternoon. While I was there I saw some beautiful sights including the Petrin Tower, Prague Castle (and surrounding area), and was lucky enough to see Charles Bridge first thing in the morning before it became packed with people. I also had the chance to try some great Czech beer and authentic cuisine! I think I could live off Beef Goulash...

We of course had some Sacher Torte, an original Viennese pastry and saw how the Austrians vewed the Opera if they could not go,,,, on a big screen. People were also walking around the streets in ballgowns. very classy.

We also found the Jewish qaurter with a few families getting ready fo Shabbat. We then went back to our hotel and brought in Shabbat ourselves

We met our local guide, Olga, this morning for a 3 hour walking tour. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and is often thought as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, its buildings date back to the 14th century. Lonely Planet says that Prague's beauty is equal to Paris!
It is indeed a beautiful city. Learned so much, saw so much! Don't know where to start!

And.. i was feeling good, so i tried to settle into a rhythm and maintain it till 14km. The course mostly followed the river and crossed over a few bridges which provided a nice view when I reminded myself to take a look at the scenery. I managed to pace the race perfectly as i averaged 4min/k's exactly to finish in a time of 1:24:20. Previously i said the event was well organised, this was most evident in the aftermath as i guzzled ...

... John Lennon wall, a famous landmark here in Prague. Dinner was at a restaurant near old town but a block or two off the beaten path. I've heard the advice to get a few blocks away from the tourist places and things get much cheaper. It's very true. Czech republic is cheaper than the places we've been as well. Meals are cheaper, souvenirs are cheaper, etc. And the city is pretty cool.

More tomorrow once we get a handle on this place!
