Our journey through the Middle East, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic has finally come to an end beginning with the 8:00 am train from Vienna to Prague followed by our flight back to Adelaide via a couple of hours stopover in Dubai. We have a great time and the last 6 weeks have been a period of personal growth for both of us as we immersed ourselves in ancient cultures from 2500 BC through to ...

What better way to end my trip than in the beautiful city of Prague (Praha). I remember, back in 2009 when my high school concert choir competed at a choral festival in New York, and meeting all these girls from the Czech Republic. ... it an average of seven hours a day, a lower pace bike ride was what we needed. We opted out of the road bike and instead switched to the classic countryside ride to Karlstejn. The ride itself is fairly easy, four to five hours of biking intermixed with stopping for photos, a bakery and history along the route. Biko has a great hand drawn map of the route, for more details see their website. Marc, our guide was friendly and personable striking the balance between ...

Today a road trip to Karlstejn Castle via a glassworks and a micro brewery. There can't be too many places where beer is the cheapest beverage, of any kind. The brewery sells craft beer in 1.5l plastic bottles with screw tops for 40 Crowns - AUD$2.50. About the same price as for ...
